And the geek shall inherit the earth

Well I was talking to My friend the other day and we got on to the subject of geeks or more accurately the fact that I am one, and from him that was not an insult more a recognition of one of his own kind.

In the past geek’dom was seen as a bad thing but now we are slowly taking over. We have penetrated most walks of life. No longer are we confine to the world of IT, but walk proudly throw schools and sports arenas.

One of the first to fall before us was the world of film, with the artsy director not so much been pushed aside as morphing in to the geek. Quentin Tarantino is one of the biggest geeks to walk the earth and makes brilliant films, acclaimed buy critics as well as the normal man.

Now we have are own fashion labels and TV channels geeks mean big money to some people yet we are still belittled by some but I laugh at the attempts to put us down for now we greatly out number them.

So to all you comic fans, trekkies and gamers I say rise up and we can rule this world with an iron fist…..

But lets have one more Game of GR:AW first

Time for a rant

Ok I’ve have just met the most annoying man ever on live, I’m not going to name names but a least one of you knows who I’m talking about.

I’m normally a nice person and I think those of you that have meat me would agree that I seem relaxed and maybe I bit to quite (I get that a lot at work) but this guy made me what to throttle him with his own headset.

Ok I know what you thinking ‘aren’t you maybe being I bit harsh on the poor chap’ no I’m not. At first I figured it was just because he was a Liverpool fan and that he made fun of sci-fi fans of which a am one, as was his friend that invited him (no idea as to why they get on with him. but it turned out I was not the only one to think this, one of the others I was taking to agreed with me but didn’t want to say so as he was invited by one of there friends

It even got to a point when I was glad that my head set is bust and that I could only hear him intermittently.

Alton towers.

Well I had some difficulties in getting my travel arranged, all day the weather was shitty and it cost me a lot of money and to be honest it was worth it all.

I’m not going to go in to much detail as vixen has done so already, and there promises to be photos as well, but what I will say is that I have never clicked with people that quickly before save for one or two occasions.

We all got on well from the start and things just got better as the day went on (well most things, the whether staid crappy) we all had a good giggle at PJ for looking positively terrified in photos of himself on Rita queen of speed and the terrible music on the cable cars.

So I would just like to thank you all for making my day enjoyable and I hope you all felt the same.

I’m back. Did you miss me?

What do you main no? The cheek of some people.

Well as I’m sure you know my trip to Paris didn’t go as planed, in the fact that we lost to Barca. There for I’m not in the best of moods but what can I do but look forwards to something good to cheer my self up. That is why I’m focusing on Sunday and the day at Alton towers. It should be good fun as I get to meet some of my live friends. It may not be as fun for them thou as they get to meet me.

But any way back my trip

France is an odd place. For instance they are crazy drivers, the roundabout around the Arc de triumph is the scariest place I have ever seen, its like the cars are being driven by drunk monkeys, it is just to hard to explain properly. They also have a fixation with making you pay to use the toilet even some restaurants charge you to use the lav.

All in all Paris is over rated in my opinion it has some nice monuments but rally it’s the same as every other city in main land Europe so why not go to some where less conventional some where like Paris but cheaper

Nearly time to go

Well its nearly time for my big trip or should I say big trips, as you may next weekend I’m going to go to Alton towers with my live friends but before that on Monday I’m off to Paris for 4 days.

No I’m not going on a romantic weekend because I would need to get a girlfriend first. And no I’m not going to see the Eiffel tower or Notre dame because I’ve seen them before a few years ago and well I doubt they have changed much.

I’m going for something far more exciting than a romantic weekend and far more interesting than any amount of building or hunchbacks, I’m going to se the champions’ league final

This sadly means that there will be no more blogs from me till at least Thursday and that I won’t be on live from Monday till Thursday night. Yes I know how hard it is to have fun with out me and I’m sorry but you’ll have to try and cope for a few days.

But seriously if I don’t play with you before Alton towers (I will as going on live will be one of the first things I do when I get back) I look forward to meeting you all.

Bye bye for now.

Time to put on my shorts and t-shirts then go inside

Well its may and the sun is shining this should be a good thing but for many people this heralds the onset of the dreaded hay fever. If you don’t suffer from hay fever (luck buggers) let me tell you a bit about it

People suffer from varying degreases, but for me this is what happens. My eyes get sore and puffy, my nose some how manages to be both blocked and runny at the same time my head gets filled whit cotton wool and all three itch

So what can I do well there are 4 main options.

1. Nothing (no thanks)
2. Spend all day stuffing hundreds of different sprays up you nose (uncomfortable)
3. Take anti-histamines that make you rally drowsy (sleeping at your desk, bad idea)
4. Gas mask (look like doctor who bad guys)

You see there really is no good solution just lest bad ones so pleas if you don’t have hay fever spare a thort for thuse of us that do, and if you are a sufferer… Gesundheit!!!

Sorted

Well I did it, I finely sorted out my trip to Alton towers, and all it tock was 28 hours with no sleep, 3 temper tantrums and a hole lot of shouting at my pc (which is rally unfair as it was not its fault)

My original plan was to get a train to stoke and then a bus to Alton towers but that was not possible it seems so now I am going to stoke by train and getting a buss from there to Alton towers, ‘but that’s the same’ you say well yes but one difference I’m getting the train on Saturday and the bus on Sunday with a night stay in a B&B.
The up side to all this is unlike the others coming from Bristol I don’t have a long journey first thing in the morning, I get to have a proper breakfast and I will still be there by 10:30 YAY ME!!!

I think I’m going to cry

Well I was hoping for a nice relaxing last day of my extra long weekend but sadly things have not gone to plan and I’m now only moments away from a full blown temper tantrum.

It started when I tried to book my trip to Alton towers and found out that virgin don’t run there train/coach package on Sundays so I had to try and fined alternative travel options, so back on to the internet I go and after 5 hours of searching I have come to An upsetting conclusion. IT IS IMPOSEBLE TO GET FROM LONDON TO ALTON TOWERS ON A SUNDAY.

So now my whole trip, not to mention my sanity, is in jeopardy and as if to add insult to injury I just had a power cut making me type all this for a second time.

so pleas I need your help to stop my head exploding if you have any ideas as to how I could get there pleas, dear god, pleas let me know.

The real urban jungle

Well to day was a day full of odd, but fun odd.

It all started simply a trip to central London looking for t-shirts and stuff sadly it soon started to rain, but that did not dampen are spirits ho no, because one and only ali G was walking around Hamlys, I have no idea why he was there but he was.

Soon after that there was more fun. Lets set the scene, it was raining and there where hoards of tourists on oxford street, so what would you have done, that’s right brake out the Frisbee we had just got and play in the middle of the road. We soon had the Japanese tourists taking photos so when they get home they can say ‘look at the crazy English men’ but that was only miner oddness compared to what happened next

You see when we got to oxford circus there was a huge crowd, ‘what’s going on here then’ we asked ourselves and then as if to answer us, a 4 story high mechanical elephant appears from around the corner, being ridden buy brightly dressed people throwing toy birds, and spraying water from its trunk. Needles to say this was not expected so sadly I don’t have any photos. My friends on the other hand where much better prepared than myself so as soon as my friends upload theirs I will post them up.

My day then returned to normal as we finished the trip with some Uzi action on house of the dead 4 and then I went for some golf with my dad. All in all I fun day was had

Reasons

Well I was advised to tell people a bit more about me, the problem is I find it really hard to talk about myself so instead I’m going to tell you why i stared to a blog and hopefully it will give a bit of an insight in to me.

There are 4 main reasons that blogging appealed to me the first is the fact that I am dyslexic which means that writing has never come easy to me, now you may think that would be a reason not to do a blog but I see it as a chance to confront that problem head-on, besides the use of word processors has almost completely removed my man problem of hand spelling.

Reason 2 is that I’m shy, a fact that has had good and bad effects on my life. On one hand it has made it hard for me to make friends on the other it has meant that the friends I do have are vary close and as dear to me as any family member. It is also a contributing factor in my love of acting, as when I’m on stage people look at me but see someone else. The blog has that same shielded feel it me doing the writing but I’m protected by the computer.

Reason 3 is much simpler, I just like to have somewhere I can put down all the silly little things that rattle around my head that I don’t need but can’t bring myself to throw away.

Then there is the forth reason, the biggest reason the, one I have in conmen with every other blogger, in the words of my new friend vixen ‘every one would like to believe the world finds them interesting’ it is the driving force behind all blogs and for every comment you get its like some one is saying ‘yes we do’

However these reasons weren’t all I needed, I also had to have a cartelist to get me going, and it came in the form of my mate Dom who gave me the same advise he has given me in many aspects of my life ‘Just shut up and get on with it’

I Need A Hug

Well to day things are bad, first off I had to be at work for 6am after only finishing at 9:30pm yesterday. Then after 9 hours of scrubbing floors, picking up rubbish after lazy good-for-nothing customers and having to listen to all the screaming kids, I get home to no xbox live! Ahhhhhhhh!!!!

Because I was working last night it will i could not play yesterday so it will be 48 hours with no xbox live for me, which is the longest I’ve been without it since getting my 360.

I don’t like being this grumpy so I will try to post something nice later or at lest one of my odd ramblings so till then try to stay happier than me

UPDATE!! Very, very, very GOOD day!!!!!!

I have just received an e-mail informing me that I am the recipient of a ticket to see Arsenal v Barcelona in the champions league final. I am now an extremely happy man.
